My writing mojo appears to be returning (yay!). In part, this is certainly due to the real-life F1 antics of Red Bull and, latterly, Ferrari, but I think also the fact that I’ve been able to allow my mojo a rest has helped.
I think that gap has also allowed me to view the whole of Full Throttle a bit more objectively. I am a complete perfectionist: a details person, as opposed to a big picture one. I like having time to go through things repeatedly with the proverbial fine-toothed comb. Often, some things are hard to spot on the very first pass. If I’m under pressure, I’ll miss them.
Plus, not having thought about FT much for a few months means I’m no longer so intimately familiar with it. Which means that slight errors, or things I took for granted when I last read/edited it, now jump out at me.
It does also mean that I read the earlier drafts and wince at some of my now-glaring continuity errors.
Still, at least I’m working on it again. That’s good.
